What industrial wind construction looks like
These pictures are from the Glacier Hills Industrial Wind Project in Randolph and Scott Townships in Columbia County, Wisconsin. The project is near Cambria.
More photos will be added; please check back for updates.
**WE HOPE THESE PHOTOS WILL NUDGE YOU TOWARD ACTION. PLEASE CONTACT NO GREEN COUNTY WIND TO FIND OUT HOW YOU CAN HELP RESIST THIS HAPPENING HERE.**
The photos show the damage to the fields and soil done by the construction, things that people can't see from the road. Many of the little dots on the roads in the photos are dump trucks, to give you the true scale of the destruction.
Note how lease-holders' fields are cut up with access roads for these 400' turbines. The turbines proposed for Green County are 100' TALLER than those pictured.
An interesting note about those access roads in the fields: If it not spelled out in the contract between the landowner and the industrial wind developer, the developer does not always allow the farmer to cross the access roads when planting or harvesting crops ON HIS OWN LAND.
Green County's turbine hosts need to see the scope of the destruction that will occur to their land. Unfortunately, these landowners becomes tenants on their own property, playing "Captain, may I?" for many, many years.
